New hires serve a nine (9) month probationary period in accordance with District policy.
Pay day is bi-weekly, every other Wednesday.
Sick Leave: 12 days per year accrued bi-weekly. Sick leave may be used after 90 days of full time service.
Vacation: General Unit, Supervisory Unit and Management: Accrued bi-weekly. First year, 5 days; second year, 10 days; seventh year, 15 days; sixteenth year, 20 days. Department Heads, Superintendents and Supervisors receive an additional 10 days vacation per year. Vacation may be used after completion of probation.
Professional Unit: Accrued bi-weekly: First year10 days; seventh year, 15 days; sixteenth year, 20 days
Holidays: 10 paid holidays. Holidays are paid during probation.
Medical Coverage: Medical providers are Kaiser and Western Health; coverage takes effect on the first day of the month following one full month of employment. District pays total employee premium. District pays a portion of dependent premium.
Dental Coverage: Dental provider is Premier Access. District pays full premium for both employee and dependents. Dental coverage takes effect on the first day of the month following two full months of employment.
Short Term Disability: Similar to California State Disability Insurance. Premium paid by employee.
Long Term Disability: Premium paid by District. Takes effect after one year of being on Short Term Disability.
Life Insurance: Premium paid by the District. Benefit is twice annual salary.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D): Voluntary coverage, premium paid by employee.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP): District paid program available to employees and their families. Confidential services provided by professional consultants helping address difficulties related to family and relationships, substance abuse, legal and financial concerns, stress and emotional problems.
Deferred Compensation: Plan 457 administered by ICMA Corporation. Voluntary employee contribution.
Retirement: California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) – 2.7% @ 55. Employee contribution of 8% is currently paid by the District.
SOCIAL SECURITY: Solano Irrigation District employees do not pay into Social Security.
